Heather McQueen Fine Art Drums (Doumbek and Tareyja)
These are Artisan hand-thrown Ceramic Doumbeks and Tareyja, with natural goatskin heads.
The Tareyja is a small (usually 8–10" tall with a 3.5–5" head diameter) doumbek style drum used by the Aissawa Sufi in Morocco. They have goatskin heads and nylon snare wires to provide a sharper tone. (There are several Aissawa rhythms in our Encyclopedia of World Rhythms, Volume 1).
Heather's Doumbeks are full-size Solo quality instruments with natural skin heads and remarkable tones. All of her drums are one-of-a-kind and are of remarkable beauty.
